Alan Kratenstein, DDS, attended New York University College of Dentistry. At his private practice, he provides general dentistry as well as full mouth rehabilitation to his patients. In addition to being a well-rounded dental practitioner, Dr. Alan Kratenstein donates to several charities, including Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

Specialists at Memorial Sloan Kettering treat all types of cancer, from pediatric to adult cancers. Treatment isn’t the only matter this cancer center focuses on. While eradicating the cancer is its primary goal, the center wants each patient to have support throughout the treatment process.

Counselors, psychologists, and psychiatrists are on-site to support patients with individual and family counseling, support groups, and child counseling. Spiritual and religious support is also available. In addition to counseling, each patient’s health and well-being is addressed through nutritional guidance, complementary therapies, and a tobacco treatment program.

To encourage activities that promote relaxation, Memorial Sloan Kettering offers art, canine, and music therapies. These programs are for all patients. However, one in particular is geared toward younger patients, the Teen and Young Adult Program, which enables young people to connect with their peers who are dealing with similar circumstances.
